ABOUT US

Astitwa Nepal.

Astitwa Nepal is a non-profit, non-governmental organization founded in 2018. Our passion lies in fostering a violence-free society and empowering survivors in Nepal. By challenging gender stereotypes and discriminatory norms, we promote inclusivity and gender equality for all. Our ultimate mission is to create a society where everyone can flourish without fear of violence, irrespective of their gender.

Our JOURNEY

Our journey began in 2018, focusing on gender-based violence, particularly acid and burns violence (ABV). Since then, we’ve been dedicated to empowering over 30 ABV survivors, providing essential medical treatments for more than 20 survivors in Kathmandu, Nepalgunj, Surkhet and Nawalparasi. Recognizing the economic impact of ABV, we’ve also supported the education of more than 20 children in Kathmandu, Nawalparasi, Nepalgunj and Surkhet. To further their economic empowerment, we conducted more than 7 skill-based training sessions, leading to the establishment of our enterprise, Sakchyam, where we promote products made by the survivors.
